Hi guys, I am planning to put together a system next week with a A8N-E, A64-3500 (Venice), 1 GB RAM and a PCIe 7800GT etc
Not decided on the monitor yet. I had initially planned to get a Viewsonic VP730b, but when I went to check it out today, I saw that the 16:10 19" VA1912 costs only $30 more. (Singapore dollars)
My question is whether my system will be able to run HL2, Q4 etc smoothly, with **all the eye candy turned up** on this wierd 1440x900 resolution. I dont want to spend money on a 7800GT only to find out that my games run lousy because i bought the wrong type of monitor and the card cannot handle the resolutions lol.
VA1912 owners, please post your impressions about this monitor in general.
Also, how does resolution influence the ability of a video card to run a game - is it just the total number of pixels on the screen, or does the aspect ratio also play a part? (1440x900 = 1296000, 1280x1024 = 1310720).
