Question About Using Monitor as a Display for Xbox360 and/or PS3

I'm living in residence at University and unfortunately space is limited. As such I want to use my computer's monitor, a Samsung 226 BW, as a display device for a PS3 or Xbox360.

Which would be the better choice for doing this: a switch box or a TV tuner? That said, if I used a switch box would there be issues with the monitor's display ratio and resolution. As well, are there any TV tuners out there that support high definition input?

For the xbox 360 you can get the xbox 360 Vga cables which will go from the av out on your 360 to the vga port on your monitor, not sure if the ps3 has such a cable.

I see, but if I did that, would the 16x10 ratio of the monitor mess things up?

A VGA Input would let you pick resolutions, I'm assuming. I've tried an HDMI -> DVI cable and it has various resolutions to choose from, but there isn't any sound because of the way the connectors are set up. The VGA Cable is worth a try. PS3 can be setup in a variety of ways, including an HDMI -> DVI cable as the audio output can be individually selected in settings.

Well my system setup :
DVI = PC
HDMI = HDMI splitter box 360 & PS3
VGA = VGA to Component for Wii
