Question about using :CueCat LED's and bright LED's in general

Hey,
I was fooling around with my cue cat and accidently pointed it in my eyes. DANM it was bright. So anyway, I ripped it apart to see if it was cae lighting worthy. I seemed very bright and if I could only get 3 or 4 more it would be as bright as I could ever want it.

The thing is, I connected the LED to 4 1.5V batteries and now it doesn't seem to work anymore. It worked the first time I connected it, but now it just won't (and yes, I know that + has to go to +, and vice-versa).

Did I fry it? Will I need a resistor or somthing to be able to use them? Anyone try using the :Cuecat LED's in a case modding project?

Thanks,
Justin Sampson

Hey,

I've done a bit of looking around and I found these http://www.tweakbox.com/leds.html. The ones I'm interested in are the Ultra Bright Red LED 5mm's (3 ones down). How many do you think it would take to light up a case? Would they be as bright as the :CueCat LED's?

Thanks,
Justin Sampson
