Question about USB Pendrive (is this good)

Ok my mother purchased a USB pendrive (jumpdrive according to them) and was wondering if it's any good. It's a lexar media 1GB pendrive, I can't open the box yet (if we need to return it). If it's really required like (oh lexar is good except this model) then I will open the container if it's necessary.
