Are those things acting just like a Floppy Disk ?
Is it being recognized in Windows as a specific type of Drive, such as an Hard-Disk Drive or another type ?
I'm asking because I have some quite nasty BIOS-related problems.
By using ASUS' Update utility I'm trying to update the current version to a older one (but that one isn't Beta like the one I use, it's completed, and I need to use it for a test that's quite important regarding the issues I am experiencing with my system).
But even via the program's own options to revert to a older version, it tells me that it's older than the current one (duh !), and the "EEPROM" is incompatible.
Physically, there is no Floppy Disk Drive at all on my system at the moment. And I can't find one of those old things locally.
But I know that "Flash Memory" devices using the USB interface exist. I simply never used one so far.
Is it possible to update a BIOS with those things ? Are they recognized properly during a "DOS" BIOS Flash ? I wouldn't want to buy one for nothing.
Thanks.
