Question About Upgrading My RAM

ok, my system supports up to 4GB and has 4 DDR channels with support for PC3200 memory. currently i have 2 512MB in dual channel.

question.. will it decrease performance to get 2 more 512MB sticks and have a total of 2GB or just buy 2 1GB sticks. any performance differnece.

Just get another 2x512mb RAM sticks both at Dual Channel

You'll have 2GB, don't waste getting 2x1GB, you're to a point where you won't notice the difference after 2GB unless running a server or x64
 
he has a p4, not an a64. i asked the same question as i have a p4 and was told i would be fine with 4 sticks as the p4s don't have the same problem with 4 sticks as the a64 do.
