question about upgrading my RAM

i have a Compaq Presario 5020. its max is 256mb and only 2 slots. do u think it would work with just one stick of 256 or do i need two 128's?

No, you will not be able to use 1 256MB module. The density is too high and the motherboard will not see the module. The lagest module it will take is 128MBs per slot. As far as I know they did not make a 256MB 66MHz memory module, at least we did not.
