Just a quick question and I know this has been asked a million times but if bought the FULL version of Windows XP professional, would it still give me the option to upgrade rather than doing a full install? Im getting the full version regardless only because Ive heard negative things about upgrading rather than just doing a clean install, but either way I was wondering if I had both options or not with a full version of XP thanks.

Full version or upgrade, it doesn't matter. If you have a copy of an old OS, you will be able to install Windows XP. You get the option of upgrade because you have 98 installed on your computer. If you don't then you can install your version of XP. If you had a clean hard drive and used the upgrade to install XP, you'll get a prompt to enter an older OS to "prove" ;) that you own an OS. You should be fine either way. Hope this helps.

You can use the Full version to "upgrade" a Windows Install, and it won't need a previous Windows' CD. I will note however that a OEM Win XP, cannot "upgrade" a previous Windows Install.
