a coworker got laid off early this year, and she's been collecting unemployment insurance.

she fould a 'consulting spot' starting on monday, extending for the next 4 weeks... meaning she can be unemployed in a month.

anybody know if since she's a temp. and that she may very well be unemployed again, is she supposed to call the state agency to terminate her unemployment insurance, only to reactivate it after the 4 weeks, or can she just continue till she actually gets something permanent? much thanks.

She doesn't have to cancel but she needs to report her income that she made during the 4 week gig. Once that is up, she can continue to receive her benefits. No need to cancel and reactivate. If she does not report her 4 week income, it WILL come back to haunt her. Trust me. :)

bozo1 thankyou for the reply.

so i guess she should report that she has worked for the week ending etc.

but when the next question on the form that comes up on the periodic questionaire asks HAVE you GONE back to work, she should still put NO? until she's got a permanent spot i suppose that's how it works?
