I have a Matrox G450 16MB SDR OEM video card.
I bought it online 2/16/01 and on 4/18/01 it died a quiet death.
I called the company and requested an RMA. They gave me one but rather than explain what happened, I'll just enter the response that was included in the email they sent.
<< Since the product is more than 15-day from the our shipping date, we
need to send this defective parts to the original manufacturer for
repair. The typical turn around time for the OEM to repair the product
and send back to us is 6 to 8 weeks. >>
The CSR told me this was standard industry practice. I called NewEgg and asked what they would do if I ordered a Matrox OEM and they said they would ship me another card. So I guess NewEgg is above and beyond standard practice or AllStar Microelectronics is below standard practice.
Would you please respond with your experience in this situation?
