question about tv/cpu resolution

i have a 1080P 120Hz LCD set. i was running a computer on it for a while. i wasnt running it at 1920X1080 more like 1200x1080. Is this bad for my tv?

No.
It will scale to fit other resolutions. If it receives a signal that it cannot support it will tell you it is out of range/unsupported or just go blank. If you can see the picture, it is fine.
