Question about Tribes2 and the Training Levels

usually when i buy a new game, i'll go through the training level to get a taste of how the gameplay will be. so i played through the first training mission, not too bad, not too great. now comes the second, and i'm thinking, "WTF?!" you're supposed to waste ALL your frikken ammo trying to destroy those sensor towers? what the hell am i supposed to use to shoot down enemy bioderms? i was pretty mad, so i decided to leave the training missions. since i hadn't played a *real* tribes2 game yet, i decided to open a lan game with bots, ctf to be specific. all i could say is that those training missions do the game noo justice. are there any sites out there that could teach me what i need to know in order to play tribes 2 w/o going through those darn missions?
 
The third training mission, you're suppose to avoid the towers at all cost. Go around them till you get to the building.

My way is I'll start riding the stupid transporter for a few feet..then I'll jump off and start running toward the building.
