Question about time zones

Argo

Lifer
As far I understand Greenwich mean time is consdered to be 0. If you move west of that you go into positive numbers and if you go east - negative. So for example, East coast would be -5, west coast -8. Somewhere in eastern europe and russia it's probably +1, +2, etc...

So my question is, according to this there should be 2 timezone, directly opposite of Greenwich, where one would be -12 and another +12. So if you move across the time zone you would jump one day forward or backwards. Is there really place like that???

It must suck living there. Especially if it's in the same country.

Only goes through one continent - no country - runs up the Bering Straight between US & Russia
