It'll do TV just fine, but the color isn't quite as good as non-TN panels, and viewing angle will be terrible. It might not be the most suitable for TV unless you only watch it from straight on.

By the way, I mean it'll do TV if you have an external TV receiver box.

I have not seen any hard evidence that they have switched to TN panels, just speculation
from some users that Westinghouse CS reps claimed that it is TN. CS reps unfortunately
are not always a reliable source of information. Beside, the website still lists the panel as
MVA.

The viewing angle won't be "terrible". The vertical viewing angle won't be great, the horizontal viewing angle will be OK. I use a 28" TN panel at work (HannsG) and the viewing angles aren't bad at all. In normal use, there isn't much difference from my non-TN display at home. We also use this same TN display in our tradeshow booths, and the viewing angles are fine - no problem with 10 people watching the display at once. I brought the display home, and compared it to my Soyo 24", and the Soyo is better for gaming and movies - the better contrast was noticable. However I could defaintely live with the 28" HannsG if I had to.

There website specifically says its an MVA panel. If so, then it sounds like a good deal to me. Are you sure the one on sale is the exact model you linked to. If the Westinghouse site says specifically that's it's an MVA panel, then why are people saying it's a TN panel?

There was post about it. apparently Westinghouse is lazy to update their website.

I have read several threads on this forum and HardOCP's and believe the reports of this monitor switching
to a TN panel is false. This is the only thread I have read that makes this claim. It very well could be
true, but the evidence still strongly suggests that MVA is the panel.
