Question about the Series 7 exam:

all i know about the series 7 is what I learned from Boiler Room.

Speaking of which, I'd recommend your watching that movie if you haven't.

'K, apparently for any of the exams other than the series 63, 65 and 66, you have to be sponsored by a brokerage house.

For the Series 63 and 65 you can sign a waiver. I think I'll take them next summer.

I am planning to study for Series 7 as well.

Any of the exams that are run through NASD require you to be sponsored. Any of the ones that are run through NASAA can be taken with a waiver, although I think you have to pay a bit more.
