Question about "The Ring" (And YES, definite spoilers, cuz I didn't fully understand it)

Ok, so I didn't understand still WHY she wasn't killed, and her boyfriend dude was?

Anyone? I know it had to do with the copy, and why did she have her son watch it? I'm confused.


And on a side note...it would be awesome if someone had some pics of that girl at the end of the movie. That is FREAKY!!! (I'm too scared to look for them) 😛

Its the curse...you have to copy the tape and SHOW it to someone, hence propagating the curse on to someone new. Copying it does nothing unless someone else watches it...this way the curse never stops. Also she never had her son watch it, he found the copy and did it on his own accord...Thats why she is having him copy it at the end, so she can give it to someone else (originally the movie was to be given to a child molestor on death row, so he could watch it and be killed, but that part was cut) The book has her show her parents the tape

So if you watch it, copy it, and show it to someone else, she's happy.
If you watch it and ignore her trauma and pain, she climbs out of your TV and gives you the Royal MindFvck with her l33t psychic powers.

Muhahah ... the second time I went to see it with some friends, I predialed one of their cellphones into mine. Right at the end of the movie, I hit "Send".

Half the theatre screamed. And I ran like hell. 😀

Oh CRAP, I didn't tell you what happened during the movie when we saw it.

I went with a friend of mine, and of course the entire time we're trying to scare EACH OTHER. The movie wasn't too bad, just that girl at the end, that was pretty freaky looking. Anyways.....DURING the movie, this lady with tall hair (No resemblence to anyone in the movie), walks down the aisle of the movie theatre, and stands at our aisle (It was the side of the theatre, with the short aisles), so she was pretty close to us. We turn over, see her, and both like jump up. She then STARES at us, walks into our aisle....all the while looking at us....stops....backs out of the aisle, then leaves the theatre. And the theatre wasn't that packed, so when she was gone.....some dude behind us goes "What the FVCK was that?" (And I'm glad he said that too....cuz we thought we were freaking imagining things.)

That was more scary than the movie.

Saaweeet! I was commenting to my fiance at the end of the movie that the theatre (for promotion's sake) should put a phone at the back of the theatre and ring it after every showing. 😉
