hey all. So I just got my own and I like it so far. But one question...

What does the little switch on the side of the remote receiver do?

thanks!

There's a switch? I didn't know there was one. I'll have to check it out when I get home.

Btw, DScaler 4.1.6 works with the TV880 now; still no sound as of yet, but I'm still looking for a workaround. Looks great for video input through the break-out box. Been too busy playing FreeLancer to see if I can get sound in Dscaler. :D

yeah it's weird. as far as I can tell, when you flip it, the yellow leds inside the red receiver part, light up. I'm not sure if it serves a function or if it's just for asethetics.

oh, and I found someone else with an asus tv tuner... are you using the powervcrII that came with? Mine acts funny when I set it to record something, the computer won't wake itself up to start recording. Anyway, it might just be my powersaving settings, I had standby turned off, but I had the harddrive and monitor set to turn off after a certain time.

I just got my Asus tuner last night and like the quality of the video, although I can't get the remote to work. It comes up with an error when trying to load the remote software every time I start windows (XP). I loaded the driver correctly, but it just doesn't seem to work. I saw on another thread how MS Messenger was screwing with the sound for this card and that is true. I could get sound in Dscaler if I didn't have Messenger on, but sometimes it acted up and went nuts. Anybody else have the same problem with the remote?
