Question about the President's authority

This is a slightly different outlook concerning the Schiavo case. My question is if the government has the authority to execute Eminent Domain and the President has the power to pardon any person he chooses, how come they don't have the same kind of power in this situation? If he has the ability to make other similar decisions why not in this case. Now I fall on the other side of the coin that they should let her go, but I just got to thinking about whether the President has the power to do such a thing.

*If the mods feel this might not warrant a seperate thread I understand if you guys lock it.

It is an interesting thought.

Can you describe "this situation" more precisely? How would a pardon work in Schiavo's cases? How would eminent domain apply?

I have heard that the man still married to her really really liked that Insurance $$$$$ he got and has said some very disparaging things about her like "when is that b1tch going to die?"

Classy is asking why the president cannot intervene and overrule the judge temporarily until more investigating can be done.

** I think it is horrible that they are going to STARVE HER TO DEATH... why not be a little more human about it??

Yea thats what I'm asking. The other stuff well . But I do find it surprising that The President and Goverment can step in and make decsions in those situations and not something like this.

Well somebody could break her out and hide her somewhere, then bush could pardon them.

Exactly, there is really no way around this, because once you start allowing true Euthanasia, you might have a tough time keeping it in check.

There are bumps in the slope, but me worries if they would be enough to prevent the slip;)
