It could provide you with useful information. ie. the Japan disaster affect on the automobile industry if you're planning on buying a car, travel planning, investing, future purchases, voting, etc...

I do my research upon arrival of interest. I do not need to do continuous 24/7/365 research of all things in the world in such a shallow sea so that whenever I do happen to buy a car (you know, once in a great while) that I happen to be somewhat informed about Japan's problem with automobile exports.

I think I would be more interested in what Consumer Reports has to say than some fucking "oh noes, Japan a bit short on automobile exports for right now." Like that fucking matters. If I want the car then I can still get it from a year past(I'd be more inclined to get a used car anyway) OR just buy a premium brand car(Rolls-Royce) that I can count on being there...
