Question about the new DOOM crashing.

Friend of mine has purchased and played the new doom a lot and he says it suffers a lot from random crashes during gameplay. On his partially new build system(I7-6700K + GTX 780) it crashes for sure while ALT +TAB and sometimes but more rarely during gameplay.
He mentioned a lot of people have this (googling for it), but since i have no details i doubt it is just the game. Probably bad drivers or overclocking.

Have any of you DOOM players seen such crashes of the game ?

I will be buying it and playing it for sure when i have my new RX480 videocard in between now and 2,5 months. 🙂

I played thru the single player campaign to the end, and I experienced a single crash to the desktop.

I thought it was pretty well polished.
 
Okay, only one crash.

I am sure that it will be solved and that patches will be released.
Maybe with the vulkan patch there is no crash at all.

Have you by any chance tried the vulkan patch ?
If so, what are your experiences with it ?
 
I've play it all the way to the end with a new RX 480. Not one single crash. Was surprised as the drivers were questionable.
 
I've had about 3 crashes so far. Been playing for 24 hours according to steam. I'm running it on a GTX 1070 FE if it matters. I ran it for a little while on an R9 290X before I got my current card and didn't experience any crashes. I'm chalking it up to problems with nvidias drivers until I know differently.
