Question about the movie Ultraviolet

I haven't actually seen the movie Ultraviolet, but I recall hearing some mention that there vampires involved in the plot. Is it related to the mini-series Ultraviolet, then?

I had heard somewhere that they were supposed to be doing a big-screen version of the mini-series, but what little I know of the movie doesn't seem related to the series.

Don't bother with the movie. It's junk.
I watched it thinking it could be decent as an art movie, with millaj as a bonus. But the acting was made me want to gouge my eyeballs out.
Save yourself by not watching it.

I was able to get through 30 minutes of it. How? I kept thinking, "It'll get better, it'll get better".

The opening credits show a series of comic books of Ultraviolet in various languages, but don't be fooled. There is no comic book or graphic novel based on this female antihero. In fact, director Wimmer wrote the comic-book-like story specifically with Jovovich in mind.
