yes, i've seen it twice.......i just saw it with my mom last night and she's convinced it's the smart-ass sergant that was in charge of Leonardo's character.......but i think it's someone completely different, though i could be off the mark

how about just watching the movie instead of creating a thread and ruining it for everyone else.

We were torn about that too. I say Markie Mark was a good guy who was kicked off the force, and just got revenge for killing his partner. My brother seemed to think he was in with the mob too, and it was a hit.

If you guys watch Infernal Affairs 3, you would get the ending of the movie a lot more... It's a way that Scorcesse uses so the American audience doesn't go "WTF the villain walks away" like in IA1....

yep, but I don't think she ordered the hit, but just gave him the info leo gave her.

also, mark was not in the mob, why would he take damon out if he was, that doesn't make sense.

Well, Matt killed Leo and the other cop, who was an insider too. Mobsters kill eachother to keep things quiet.

I don't think Mark was in the mob.. the movie never really suggests that. His character is there to prevent Matt Damon from ever getting full access to who the rat is. If Mark was part of the mob, why did Leo never get exposed? Doesn't make any sense. Mark's character was there to be the blockade to Matt and to deliver final justice at the end.

How about search for the multiple Departed threads already created?

I'm not going to read the thread yet, but it hit the local $1.50 theater tonight and I'll be seeing it tomorrow.
