Question about the movie Crash

If you haven't seen the movie don't read this.


Near the end of the movie, the rookie cop shoots and kills the black guy in his car. Then he opens up the door and the black guy falls out. He then opens his door and walks out. The next scene (or 2 scenes later? i don't remember) the cop is at the crime scene along w/ a bunch of other cops. However they don't make it clear if he admits he shot the guy, or if he pretends he didn't shoot the guy, and he is just helping to investigate.

Wasn't he walking around with his former partner and then he took a smoke? It also showed the shoe of the guy who he killed.

I think he burned the car with the person in there (my opinion).
