question about the Mavs vs Kings series

how is dirk not dominating predrag? he's got 3 inches and 15 lbs on him. i know he's not a post player, but he should be able to shoot over him all day and nite... right?

Dirk isn't much of a post up player, so the size doesn't matter that much and the weight doesn't matter at all. I like some of the Mavs other match-ups better anyways, like Nash and Van Exel.

dirk can't drive on peja because peja is too quick. if you can't drive on a guy, he can play close enough to you to take away the jumper.

How come no one's ever thought to just put hot chicks in those seats?

that's like asking why can't shaq shoot over and dribble past any point guard in the nba. yes dirk has the weight and size advantage but along with that comes disadvantages like lost of speed and ability to jump. i'm pretty sure peja has enough ups to block nowitzki if he just blindly shoots. plus tall players have a harder problem dribbling since the distance between their hands and the floor is much bigger, which means easier chance for people to strip them.

i saw dirk dunk today and when he shoots, his point of release should be comfortably higher than predrag can reach. what i am thinking is... post him to get the ball, dribble, front him, and shoot. do u think it would work? and his predrag is playing him so close, it should be pretty easy to drive past him, or at least draw enough contact to get some silly touch fouls.

please do not insult me and my neffing thread with dumb rhetorical statements. i am comparing two similar players; at least similar enough that the coaches matches them up.

i seen dirk play. he has decent ball handling skills. maybe i should have been more clear in describing how i think dirk should dominate predrag. mavs should get the ball in his hands, and then isolate. if the kings wanna double, there should be a man open. but if they don't double, dirk should be able to shoot over predrag if he gives him room. if predrag plays all up on him... he could either post him (which dirk is not known for, but i am sure he could do it), or drive. even if its just a dribble pull up... it should create some space so he can get a good look and shoot over him. i dunno. just a thought. dirk was a monster in the utah series.
