Question about The Godfather Part II

Turkish

---------- Xiety says -----------

Was it in Part II that Don (Pacino) goes and talks to Carlo and gets him to kinda admit he traited the family at Sonnita's death? He tells him a car is waiting for him outside and will take him to the airport and once Carlo gets in the car, the family kills him. Was that end of Part II or Part I? Or other? 😕 My DVD is scratched so I can't watch it 🙁 Anyone wanna help me out?

It's tolerable, but nowhere as good as the first two. I got the trilogy on DVD 3 Christmases ago

Carlo kicks out the windshield at the end of Part 1.

I like II better as well. The story is a lot more intriguing and interesting. Actually I've always really seen the first 2 as one movie.

AMC showed a "director's cut" of the trilogy. It had a LOT of cut footage in it that I had never seen before. I'd say well over an hour of film.

They also showed it in a very interesting order. They showed all the old world stuff of Vito first, then the entire first movie, then the 1950s stuff of the second movie, then the third movie. A very intersting way to watch it.

I wish I could get that cut on DVD.

One notable extended scene: The Carlo/Daughter fight scene that leads up to Sonny's death. It's about three times longer and shows the set up, the dinner plans then the fight.

Another: Lots and lots of dialogue between the undertaker and his wife before Vito brings in Sonny after he's been killed.

In Part IV Coppola does the CanCan naked in front of the camera for 3 hours. The Dvd has a special 4 1/2 hour extended platnium version where he does it from diffrent angles.

Seriously, in my mind I like to imagine Part III never happened. What a way to mess up/end a masterpiece.
