Actually they do. Just have to hunt around for it. ComputerHQ.com has it in stock.

Not everyone wants to pay a premium for a card that does a guaranteed overclock.

actually the Gainward Golden sample cards are cheaper than some other manufacturers like Visiontek, MSi, Asus etc

Thanks for the info...the reason I was asking is that on the Gainward site there is no non-Golden Sample listed for the ti550 XP and yet I have one here sitting in front if me...I cant figure it out!! :(

The reason I know it is not a golden sample is that it does not have the gold sticker (it has silver) and it does not say it...but it does say 3.8ns DDR...what do ya think?

The only difference between the two is the simple fact that Gainward guarantees the Golden will overclock to a certain speed. The non-Golden cards are not guaranteed to OC @ all.

Most people have bought regular Gainward GF3's and OC'd them to Ti500 speeds. Whether this is due to high quality yields from nVIDIA or some tweaks in Gainward's design remains to be seen.

If your box doesn't have the Gold sticker, it isn't the Golden Sample.

See IMO the golden sample card is overrated. I've seen some golden Sample that won't go over the rated overclock. Then the same system will accept a MSi card for example and overclock alot more. I've made my Ti200 Gainward overclock to 240/500 but anymore will freeze in 3dmark.

The premium is paying for a Golden vs non-Golden card.
