Question about the empire state building...

I believe it's called the Empire State Building because NY has the nickname "The Empire State". So I'd go with "Empire State" Building.

Used to be called the "Empty State Building" because when they built the thing during the Depression, no one moved in.

Yarly. I think it took like 11-12 years to get to capacity.
 
What about "The World Trade Center." Is (was) it "world trade" center, "world trade center", "world trade center" towers, "world trade center" buildings???
