Question about the Dragon Age expansion

I'm thinking about pre-purchasing the DA expansion, just had a quick question. Are there any details yet released about what this expansion contains and how it is formatted? I ask because I haven't finished DA yet (I think I'm about 1/2 - 2/3 finished). Will the expansion just be more quests or another main quest tacked on at the end? Or if I install it while still playing the original will it add more depth/breadth to the main game (more side quests, more character, etc)? Basically I'm asking if it would be better for me to buy this game before or after finishing the original main quest.

No spoilers in this thread please.

I'm almost positive that it's an expansion that you play after finishing the main quest. I say this because the promo stuff says you can import your old character or you can create an entirely new one. All the other story-related stuff makes it seem like it's a smaller chapter that comes after the main quest. To your last question, I'd say it makes the most sense to finish the original quest first. Hope that helps.

This is definitely intended to be played after you complete the main quest. The storyline takes place after the storyline in DA: Origins, so once you advance into the expansion timeline you can no longer go back and finish the main quest.

As for the pre-order, I would hold off if you're only about halfway finished. There's no benefit in this case and you run the risk of spending money earlier than you would otherwise do so.

I'd wait a while longer, at least until there's more information available. Right now, information is limited, sketchy, and subject to change. With a projected release data of March 2010, you don't have very long to wait.

For me, I bought the DD version and have no intention of buying any more DLC untill they release a GOTY version and its dropped to <$30. After playing the the 2 DLC included in the DD edition I do not feel that they are worth the 40% premium (*if you bought the regular version and added the 2 DLC seperately). The way I look at it is Ill play the game and enjoy it, then after a year (2 maybe in the case of DA) I can get all of the DLC for a fraction of the cost and it might have been long enough that I have forgotten some of the game and would enjoy playing the whole game again.

Did it with Morrowind (kinda)
Did it with Oblivion
Plan on doing it with FO3 (missed the 5 min $17 steam holiday "sale")
