And it's requirements.
I'm about to graduate (duh), and I am enrolling in the Univ. of Washington's intensive acctg program next summer (18 credits over 10 weeks), which combined with the 10 credits of accounting classes I'll obtain over the next year, should satisfy the accounting coursework for the WA state CPA license. Combined with either a fourth year in undergrad or the first year of law school, I will also have the general coursework requirements met.
My question is, can I still sit for the exam if I don't have the required two years of accounting experience? I understand that I will not get the license until I do, but if I can sit for the exam and pass it, I could at least use that as some sort of stepping stone to get an accounting related position.
Thoughts?
Ack, another question, about education requirements. In two years, I will have met the college credit requirement (225 quarter credits), and I will have 36 credit hours of accounting subjects and 36 credit hours of required business subjects (economics), which meet the requirements as defined here. However, I will not have a degree in Accounting. Does taking the credits without the degree designation permit me to sit for the exam?
