Hello,
Just bought a 3000+ and an ABIT AV8 (they won't be here till Wednesday). Anyway, from what I've read with most of the boards you'll have to flash the bios before you can use any of the Winchester CPUs. I was wondering, would I still be able to go through the boot up with the Winchester CPU in or will the mobo just not boot at all? This will be the only socket 939 I will have and it would really suck if I'm not able to flash the BIOS using this CPU. Maybe the board comes with a newer BIOS? It seems to be a newer revision because it has active cooling on the northbridge now opposed to the passive heatsink. Anyway, lemme know if I'll be able to flash the BIOS if it needs it with the CPU.
Thanks!
