Question about Team Fortress 2

Anyone played it? I just started playing and I must be missing something obviuous. I have some weapons in my backpack, some say equipped and some dont. How do I equip the new items I get?

Open the load out screen for the class the item is for, replace the item in the slot it takes. You can only have 1 of each type equipped per class.

Just click on the item to replace (main/secondary/melee). If you haven't found the replacement, then it won't be listed. But if you haven't played enough to know it, read up on the TF2 wiki:
