question about T40/T41

I know these use pc2700 ram
but can you use pc2100 ram?

is the pentium m performance as dependent on FSB as the p4's is

assuming pc2100 does work, will it decrease performance

Which do you have? I have a T40 that uses PC2100. If you use PC2100 in a machine that starts off with PC2700, I would assume you would notice a slight performance loss.

its a t41 with pentium m 1.6

i jave 768 mb of ram in my other laptop with a 256 mb stick and 512mb stick (both 2100) , which i am going to sell. my t41 came with 256 mb. i was wondering if i could use the 512mb pc2100 stick in the t41

With memory prices at pretty decent prices right now, I would just sell the ram with your laptop and buy a new stick. I ordered a stick of 512mb crucial pc2700 for my buddy from newegg.

in the T41 there is active harddrive protection, can i replace the harddrive that came with it and still have the protection feature

Thanks
