question about switching processors

Hey everyone, i am planning on switching my athlon 900 mhz processor with a
duron 600 mhz on my computer, and was just wondering if there was any thing
i had to do as far as changing drivers or disabling stuff, or is it safe to
just replace it without doing anything.

i am currently running

pc chips m810 LMR motherboard with onboard video, sound, NIC and 56k modem
900 mhz athlon
30 gig hard drive

yeah, do what pezzie says

just make sure to:
if jumperless mobo, change the speed in the bios
OR
if jumpers, change them to correct speed
