question about streaming movies and video games

okay this may be a stupid question but here goes. why can I stream a 720p video game form OnLive just fine on my netbook yet a 720p movie streamed from Netflix is a slideshow?

Two possibilities I can think of:

- Your ISP might be throttling netflix traffic

- OnLive is sending a different video codec that works better with the CPU in your netbook (less advanced compression, higher data rate with lower compression, lower image quality)

its definitely not the first one because I stream netflix on the other comps.

It's probably the compression scheme then. Old 600 MHz Pentium 3's could decode MPEG-2 from DVDs without problems, while P4 3.2 GHz processors struggled with the blu-ray formats.

Have you installed any codec packs? E.G. Shark007's x32 and x64 packs?
