Question about steroids..

I think I once heard that once you get off steroids after extensive use, you basically lose everything you gained during the time of using steroids after a short period. It's essentially as if you stop working out all together after working out for a while and then losing what you gained.

So if someone like Bonds or whomever keeps their physique even after all these months, is it safe to conclude that either..
a) he's used steroids in the past, and is still using them (which he'd be really dumb to be doing)..or
b) he's never used steroids before and his gains have come completely "naturally"?

It depends on how you go off them. Without a solid knowledge about how to use them you will lose a lot of gains. A lot of people grow dependent on them for this reason. Even with the background of knowledge if you take the mr.olympia and tell him he has 3 months to ween off, he's going to invariably lose a lot of size, since the roids have pushed his body so far past his otherwise normal genetic potential.

Um, I've never used so I'm speaking about what I've read: You can keep some of the gains due to muscle memory and stretching. You are an emotional wreck when your testes are trying to figure out whether or not to produce hormones EVER again.

There are lots of psychological things happening besides the muscle growth.

Finally, the huge guys are prolly not taking steroids too much anymore, Growth Hormone is the newest drug of choice, so I've heard anyways.
