Question about Staples Gift Check

Got a couple in the mail today and was wondering if I can buy something with them and then return it to get cash. Is this possible or will they just give you a gift card back or something. Also I have a friend who wants to give me one for some work I did for him. Can I use it even if his name is on it.

I don't think you can return it for cash. Probably just get store credit.

I think you can use any gift check. When I use mine, they never ask for ID or anything.

You can give it to a friend, but you can not get cash for it. They will just put any remaining balance on a cash card.

It's the managers discretion as to how many gift checks you can use at one time, I've seen some people use four at once while some managers limit you to one, so as they say, YMMV 🙂

hmmm if they put the money on the cash card, can this be used over the phone or online then? isnt the cash card like a giftcard
