Question about Staples Canada...

Calling all ATOT'ers from Canada....

I know you guys have staples up in canada, but they are not called Staples. I was just wondering if there clearance items go on clearance the same time the ones in the US do. I work at Staples but was just wondering if the schedule is the same. For example if item X goes on clearance in the US for 19.50.. does it stay the same price in Canada or go on clearance like it does here?

Heres why - Two guys have been hiting staples in VT/NY buying EVERYTHING that is on clearance. They hit our store at least 5 times within the past two months. I had no problem with them doing so until i found out they were using FAKE printable coupons to buy these items. I caught on to there scam and they havent been back since. So bascially what i think they are doing is buying the items here in the US for cheap, then going back to Canada and returning them up there for full credit. If anyone from Canada can help me out that would be great.. thanks

Here it's called Staples Business Depot. I'm sure you could call into a branch and inquire? After all it's part of the business.

Have you ever bought anything from Hot Deals for example and not have it be on clearance in Canada? The reason is that they were buying like 1 dollar items and then they could possibly recieve like $8 credit over the boarder. I believe they have an inside source and have been taking Staples for a lot of money for a good amount of time

I have noticed some stores are changing their policy re returns without receipts
Canadian Tire used to have a policy to give you the lowest price they've sold the item for
if you didn't have a receipt.........now they're starting to just give store credit..
I guess that's the result of some people that are always trying to play the angles
and ruining it for honest people......

I'm not sure what Staples policy is, but of course it would be harder for them to do
what you say because of the strength of the American dollar unless it was really marked down
Returning one thing without a receipt is one thing, but I seriously doubt they would have any success
returning a bunch of things.
It seems to me it would be better to just put good items on ebay
Things like hard drives get really good bids :Q

I believe that they have some kind of connection working up in Canada that is leting them returning all the items without reciept.... why else would you buy 30 boxes of Kleenex or random JUNK from every staples in VT and upstate NY?.. these guys are out to make a profit.. i just cant figure out how exactly they are doing it

If you get a great price on ANYTHING
you can make money selling it

I very seriously doubt they are returning it to Staples in Canada
