Since this is in the off topic area I hope this is ok :)
Just wondering what the standard in getting refunds is?
Like I paid 18.50+4shipping and handling (dood on egay)
but the item arrived smashed so I shipped it back to get
a refund. The guy only refunded back the 18.50+2.
So its like I'm paying him 2 bucks for getting nothing.

Am I wrong in trying to get the 2 bucks back? I know $2
aint much but its the principle.

Thanks for any comments.

Think of eBay as a big garage sale or flea market, there really is no "standard", you could write the guy and ask for the additional $2, can't hurt to ask.

I think you were lucky to get half the shipping back---most sellers won't refund any of the shipping cost

yeah.. they usually state in their description something like

"if customer is not satisfied, a full refund will be rewarded minus the shipping costs."
