Question about SSID Broadcasting...

Turkish

Lifer
So I want to disable SSID Broadcasting, enable WEP and disable MAC filtering.

When a friend comes over, I want him to connect to my network as soon as possible. How would we do this if his laptop cannot see my connection in the house? Do we enter an IP or what? 😕 Thanks.

May be it will work as described.

However it depends on what the guy is having as a Laptop.

Some Wireless does not connect if the Broadcast is Off.

If you want fast action, put your SSID in his Laptop disable the security and let him connect, once he is connected enable first MAC and then WEP/WPA (what ever is compatible).

The whole thing should not take more than 5 min. I doubt that any one will ?Steal? you systems in these 5 minutes.

:sun:

P.S. His laptop has to be configured to obtain IP Auto. Your system has to have your DHCP On with a Free IP to give out, otherwise you have to configure his Laptop's Network settings manually.
