Hello,

our contract is going to be over soon ....

we have 1 phone - for me ... paying $39 ...

I was wondering is there any way to get 2nd phone as cheap as possible, get a new plan and share that plan between two phones for the same price($39) ?

thx :)

We have that situation.

2 Phones sharing same plan
350 daytime minutes
$59 per month

"Family Plan"

IF you use it, make sure that they actually assign both phones to the same plan.
IT has taken us 4 months to get it correct.

First month, the second phone was being billed not on any plan 0.30 / minute usage
Then it was fixed for about 2 weeks, then somehow Sprint recoded to 2 phones but only one was on the plan.
Then Sprint said that I was comitting fraud by having 2 phones.

Finally, the last bill seems OK. Will be holding my breath for this month.

Call the "retention" department (tell them you're calling to cancel your service).

One word of warning. If you go the cancel route be prepared to cancel. The other route you can go is just to tell them the situation. They want to keep you as a customer.

One more thing, you can't use Add-A-Phone on a plan less then $59.99 a month I think.

PRECISELY why I despise SprintPCS. Their customer service is HORRIBLE. The only reason I am staying with them is my 25% corporate discount. Verizon only offers 15% and comparatively, it saves me a bundle for 3 phones. Anyway, to keep my horror story short, it took them 3 billing periods to get the correct discount code in the system. I wasn't about to pay $230 for a month. ;) These stories are ALL over the place, including my company's newsgroups... where we primarily use SprintPCS.

Oh yeah, not to mention I get dropped so often from a call... did you know there is an automated # to dial for a refund of your minute's cost when you get dropped? Sad, ain't it?

FYI: heard on the radio the other day... in the order of best to worst ratings... Verizon - Voicestream/Cingular - Nextel - SprintPCS - T-Mobile.

Sprint charges $20 to share an account. I share an account with the wife. I'm really only saving $10 over just getting myself the lowest costing account($29).

Nextel is the ABSOLUTE worst. I had to pay a $330 buyout and I'm still fuming.

AT&T is hands down the best. $99 a month and UNLIMITED calls 24 hours a day anywhere in the U.S.

Basically call Sprint PCS and tell them you want to cancel your service, they'll transfer you to their retention department which should offer to lower your rate, increase your minutes and offer you other goodies to keep you as a customer.

Here's an informative thread, take some time to read it.

There's also some great info on FW Hot Deals forum, search for Sprint

If they make you cancel, well, BOO HOO! It's Verizon America's Choice Family Share time. Enjoy Verizon's 800 MHz CDMA Network that's backed up by Verizon's traditional AMPS (800 MHz analog) network, Alltel's digital and analog networks, and finally, Sprint's, yes Sprint's 1900 MHz CDMA network. (Unfortunately, it's $55 per month at its cheapest.)

Sprint is finally back to dealing again b/c of competition.
ie, other providers have same anytime minutes for less; and ATT has unlimited for $99.99.

gawd-aw-ful is what SPRINT is. Nice phones, terrible service. and as someone mentioned .. as other carriers increased minutes, they did not.

Around here, The Bay Area, they suck. HARD.

ATT, Verizon and Cingular .. in that order are the preffered.

Cingular preferred? I have never heard anyone say that. That said, I have had no problem with Sprint when I've been in the Bay Area.
