Do you get cheaper tickets if you show up to an event when it's just about to go on?

Meaning..
if they have a lot of seats available, would they sell at face value or deeply discounted?
 
the event (ofiicial tickets) wont...but scalpers out front will if there are a large excess # of tickets they cant sell.
