Question about SPDIF cables...

just a simple question really...I recently got my creative labs / cambridge soundworks speakers in, and connected it to my computer. however, my computer is about 15ft away from my desk, and the cables don't reach, so i have to place the subwoofer in between my desk and computer. that cable that connects the sub to the spdif output on my soundcard (the one that looks like an a/v cable) --- can I just replace it with a normal, longer a/v cable? it wouldn't affect sound quality or anything, right?

thanks in advance.

spdif cables are really just normal "rca" cables. i would replace them with longer ones (of a decent quality). your other option, of course, is to add an RCA extension cable (available at radio shack), but i would personally replace them completely so as to avoid needing an extension adapter.
