Hey.

So after some time I decided that I want to buy the Turtle Beach Stealth 400 to mainly use for pc gaming. Its a wireless headset and I really don't know much about that stuff.

https://support.turtlebeach.com/hc/en-us/articles/21976...

The requirements for this headset is to have an open usb slot and to have a digital output. My pc doesn't have a digital output. My ps4 does though. However, my pc does have an SPDIF slot that is not in use. And I read on the internet that digital output (optical) and SPDIF share the same purpose. However, they look different. Here's a picture of how it looks like on my ps4:

(Yea the thing is a mess)

And here's how it looks like on my PC:

To me, the 2 ports are not 100% the same. The the top of the ports have different shapes.

Anyway, will I be able to plug in the headset on my pc? And how can I be sure that It'll work? And is there a way for me to see if the port actually works?

Yes, those are the same output. They need a fiber optic cable to connect. If you press in the little door with a pencil or something (it's just lightly hinged), you should be able to see the red light being emitted from the PS4 or PC. (Although some of them don't turn on unless they sense something is connected....)

Your motherboard probably has copper S/PDIF connections. You can jumper some wires to a RCA jack and mount to an expansion slot.

[edit]

Both of the connections you pictured are optical and they are the same.

I have seen some laptops with optical INSIDE a 3.5mm headphone jack. Some optical cables have a dangling light guide adapter for those.
