I have an ibm ps/2 9095 with a pentium 60 mhz, 64 mb of ram. What are my upgrade options as far as processor. This comp uses a daughter board that the processor is mounted on.

Im not real sure on this but if the motherboard supports it you maybe able to put a faster Pentium 1 CPU in there, but thats about it.

Hehe, wisest money spent would be to drop that thing as an anchor, buy a cheap case, Duron 750, and a refurb kt7 mobo from newegg for around $150-$200. Your going to spend 1/3 to 1/2 that much upgrading your old machine anyway.

this machine cost about $120,000 when it was first purchased more than 12 years ago. 2 gig scsi hard drives 64mb ram and a special fiber optic card :). Used for film output in prepress. just looking for a way to speed things up a bit.

You could probably add an IDT Quickchip (up to 233MHz w/MMX). In my experience, though, the performance increase was not that great.

If it is socket 1~3 then you might be able to get a 5x86 adapter card @ 133mhz...if the mobo bios support it. And, it is going to be hard to find one of them dinosaur if you can find one.

Best bet is to surf the net and look for hardware drivers for your AIX version then built your puter from that. Because chances are, most hardware that you purchase don't have drivers for older AIX OS.
