And quit like I did this year. It's not that hard once you decide to stop.

Soft packs are from a different era. My 72 year old dad uses them, and with a barely noticeable flick of his wrist, he can have just one sticking out of the pack, the adjacent cigs know better than the come out even a little, the lone one he grabs with his teeth, then lights it with a solid brass WWII era zippo which he also lighted in another smooth, single motion.

Now thats fuckin cool.

don't try to give him a hard pack, he'll call you a pansy girl or something

I've seen older guys do that, it is pretty badass.

Soft packs are better. They crush down and smoosh the cigarettes, but they're still usable. Hard packs flex and snap the cigarettes. The one benefit of a hard pack is it's easier to keep the cigarettes from falling out. I still prefer soft pack though.

i quit a few years ago, but the one positive side of a soft pack when I was forced to buy one, was every time I thought I was out, there was always one or two more hidden inside.

And once you learn to take the filter off a cracked cigarette and twist it onto the other side, even a horribly crushed pack can be salvaged.

Now that is bad ass! Only reason for 'em!

I'm with ya otherwise OP. Soft packs are just fail. Worst time is gearing up to go camping and at least one of my friends ends up with a soft pack that just is fucked by the next morning.

You might think to save your last hard pack to put the cigs in but the soft pack cigs are actually a tiny bit longer! Who the hell did that?

Doesn't really matter to me either way.. I don't wear clothing that's so tight that it breaks cigarettes when I move.

I've never seen soft packs. Granted I haven't been around much, just the Middle East and India, but all I've ever seen are flip-top packs.

Smoking is stupid. Actually, it's kind of funny, when I think about it. We have been told all of our lives that smoking is addictive, and that it is bad for you. Yet, a select few ignore these warnings and opt to start smoking. Now they are addicted, spending their hard earned cash on a product that does nothing but keep them addicted. What a wonderful business model this is. Praying on the weak willed fools of society is a sure bet. Everyone knows this.

I hate soft packs as well. I try to save a hard pack if I remember so I can transfer the cigs in a soft pack to it.

I smoked Lucky Strikes for years. I got big legs so I used an empty breath mint tin to protect my smokes.

I quit in '03 but I also hated the soft packs. I actually had a metal cig case just for this though.

Now I'm one of those hypocrites that hates everything about smoking and smokers piss me off.
