Question about SLI

I have a eVGA 7800GT, if I want an SLI setup do I have to have the exact same cards??? I know eVGA has a few different types of 7800GTs and was wondering if it really mattered. And also does anyone know the performance increase I would get with 2 7800GT in SLI on an Asus A8N-Sli Premium board????
 
you must have another 7800gt; difference in clock speeds will result in the cards both running at the lowest speed. As for performance increase, i upgraded only for Oblivion; and i am very happy with the additional settings the 2nd card allowed. i don't have a %; merely a change from frustrated to happy.
 
Ok, well will I see much increase with my motherboard??? If set in SLI it will only be 8x/8x right??? Not true 16x/16x.
