Question about Slashdot submissions

I submitted something yesterday at something like 2 PM... and it's still pending. My previous submissions (4) have been rejected within the hour of submission. Is it a good sign that almost 20 hours later, it's still pending? It's not breaking news, so I am in no rush.

Not entirely sure how submissions work. I would imagine if it's unique and relevant, you shouldn't have any problem though.

I submitted one or two articles a while back, before Slashdot started rolling downhill. Now I'm farked. Not quite news for nerds, but, at least it's got bewbies.

Hmm?

I don't see the point for people on broadband, you can download everything from that CD image

You can theoretically, but first, you have to know of all this software. Second, you'd have to download it all separately. Third, you'd have to make a CD of it.
As it is, you can just download the image, and most of the good open-source software for Windows in one place, properly separated into categories, and just burn the image. A good, geeky gift.

Just to put an end to the suspense, my story has been approved and included into the Slashback. I come back from donating blood, and see how slow my Internet is... check, and sure enough, 31 people downloading it.
