ok. i have PC1 with 2 nics. one is connected to a router thats connected to the internet. i want to connect the other nic to another router with PC2 behind that. how can i do this?

right now PC1 has internet. both pc's can see each other but pc2 cant get online.

as of now the network is setup:

pc1 - nic1(internet)
automatic settings
ip: 192.168.1.101
gateway: 192.168.1.1
subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
ect...

pc1 - nic2 (lan)
manual settings
ip: 192.168.2.105
subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
gateway & dns is blank

pc2
manual settings
ip: 192.168.2.101
subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
gateway & dns is blank

internet router has the ip of 192.168.1.1
lan router has the ip of 192.168.2.1

can anyone help me get this going?? i think i might have to do something with the route command but im not sure on how to use it.

thanks alot

What is the operating system of both PCs?

If XP, you will have to set up Internet Connection Sharing on PC1 and it should create a disk for the configuration of PC2

If you need more info search google for internet connection sharing

Other networking guru could give you better advice but here's something to get you going...disable DHCP on your LAN router and assign IP address something like(192.168.1.2)..hook up PC1-NIC 2 to LAN port. Enable Internet Sharing on PC1 and see what happen...
