Question about Senior DLs

xanis

Lifer
I'm currently 17 and I have my junior driver's license, which basically means I can't drive past 11:00PM unless it's for some emergency. I know that get's their senior DL when they turn 18, but I also know that if one has been driving for a year and a half and has no accidents or infractions, he or she can get their senior DL before they turn 18. I'm looking to do this, but I'm not sure what paperwork I would need to fill out. Does anyone have an idea of what I would need? I live about 30 minutes from the DMV, so it would be nice if I didn't have to drive all the way down there and find out I made a mistake or forgot something.

EDIT: I live in Pennsylvania.

In my state it was simply a state curfew law and there was no senior license. The only acceptable reasons to be out after curfew were to be going to/from work, school, or a sporting event.

Incorrect. You can only get a regular, non-commercial DL if you are 18 years of age or older. You can get the NC license before you're 18, but you need to fill out some paperwork and have the requisite classroom instruction.

The laws differ from state to state, there's no such thing as a standard law in New England. For example, in MA(ssachusetts), I believe that you're license is restricted for either 6 months, or until you turn 18, whichever comes first.
