hi guys,

i am selling something on ebay, a digicam. I have all receipts, and i purchased an 2yr extended warranty for the camera.

I want to sell the camera with the warranty and all receipts.

QUESTION:

What precautions should i take so noone can use my information (Sears card number, signature etc..) for dark purposes ? The receipts contain the sears card number (i think) and a signature. Should i black that out ?

I just want to make sure that i can sell my item w/ warranty and everything but stay safe.

thanks !

Even if you black out your cc number, expiration and name ... they can still get that info.

They just need to ask a Sears employee to lookup the transaction on their computer, probably won't have your entire cc (just last 4 digits) but you should be paranoid regardless.

Trust no one.

Put black tape (hockey tape works well) over the personal info and photocopy. Works pretty well.

Edit - But yeah, paranoia is still good.
